There's some fine print text on the back that is VIP info for us "fluffy" mommas... If you weigh over 175 lb, you will likely need to increase dosage to see an effect. That was definitely true for me - I maxed out the amount the label said I could take in a day. Heads up!Post-flu I had basically completely dried up. Mere dribbles. I was power pumping and still only getting maybe 1 ounce TOTAL from both sides. So disappointing. This went on for weeks.EFFECT:After I started this, I've been able to add about 1 extra ounce PER DAY to my total milk output. Right now I can get up to 5 oz total in one pumping session. I am still power pumping every afternoon, just like before, but have noticed a big difference because of this supplement. I have tried the pill supplements, too, but they just did not work for me. Something about the liquid supplement works SO MUCH BETTER for me. I don't know why, but it does.MILK:Baby doesn't get extra gassy, so whatever is in it does not make my milk taste funny or upset his stomach. Also, it seems to make my milk even creamier looking. It's almost thick like a drinkable yogurt or half-and-half. That could be my diet or other factors, but honestly I haven't changed my diet at all. If you're like me, you might see both more milk and a different quality of milk. Before I was struggling to get 1 ounce of watery, greenish looking milk but he seems to like this new, creamier milk much better.TASTE:If you've ever wanted to lick the bottom of your lawn mower, you will love the taste. If not... I have a trick... Take a big sip of lemonade or coffee and *while you are holding the liquid in your mouth* tilt your head back and squirt a bit of this supplement in your mouth. Swallow quickly and the liquid you're drinking *almost* masks the grassy, earthy, lawn-mower-make-out flavor.BOTTOM LINE:All things considered, I don't care what it tastes like as long as it works. And this does - it is the ONLY supplement that actually helped me produce more milk. I take the maximum amount on the label b/c of my weight. This was recommended to me by my daughters pediatric nurse practitioner and I fell in love with it. I was fortunate to stay home with my daughter for 16 weeks after my delivery for maternity leave, so my milk supply was pretty well established before returning to work because of the regular and frequent nursing. I started pumping later than I should have (waiting until 8 or 10 weeks) before returning to work before starting to build up my freezer supply. So needles to say, my reserve was not all that great, especially since when I was home she would refuse to take a bottle and insisted on having fresh milk. When I returned to work the stress of not having a designated place to pump and varying times when I was able to get a pump in, caused my supply to suffer. As a nurse there aren't set break times because of the nature of the work. I started producing less and less despite my high water intake and frequent nursing when I was home with my baby. It got to the point when I only had 1 days worth of reserve. I initially was using mothers milk tea by Traditional Medicinal and sometimes just pain fenugreek tea which worked, but you have to take the time out to brew the tea and it has an acquired taste which could be an issue for some. I thought it was okay. However, this product worked so much better. After taking it consistently for 2-3 days there was a very noticeable increase in my milk supply. You still have to drink plenty of water and keep up on the pumping but I was getting more out with each pump. The taste didn't bother me at all, it doesn't taste like jolly ranchers and apple pie but not bad. I think I took it like 3/day.I prefer to alcohol free one because you can just drop it right in your mouth. The one with alcohol you have to mix down in some juice or water. I have tried the regular motherlove as well as this one that supposed to be like extra strength, and they both are excellent. I prefer this liquid over the capsules, seems more effective. With this I was able to keep my supply up to nurse my daughter for 18 months!! I could have gone longer but I felt it was time for us to wean. To much added stress from school and work. Even after I stopped nursing it took a while to dry up 4 weeks or more. But it works great, worth every penny if you are having trouble keeping your supply up.Let's clear something up for those of you too stupid to have an ounce of (not so) common sense. Every person's body is different and reacts differently to everything. If your body is blocked or switched in any manner, these herb blends will most likely NOT work for you, nor will any nutritional supplement you attempt. Do not try to self test any product. Only dipsh*ts do that. It is unreliable and the outcome can easily be altered. Tinctures contain alcohol. Get over it. They do not contain enough alcohol per dose to harm your baby via breastmilk. Tinctures taste like s***. They are nasty herb blends, breaking down in alcohol solution. Did you honestly expect anything different? You know what makes this crap taste good? Sugars. You know what increases inflammation, suppresses your immune system, feeds cancers and bugs, and decreases the effecacy of a healing product? Sugars. Now let's address the floaty sludge in the product. It's a TINCTURE! WHAT DID YOU EXPECT?! On a side note, I wasn't able to have my doctor check me for dosage or to even see if this was the correct prout for me. I knew that in advance and therefore knew it possibly wouldn't work. Surprisingly it did help. I was able to breastfeed for 6 weeks. This is incredible as my body doesn't tend to make milk. I didn't even make more than a few drops colostrum with my last child. Anyway, it may or may not work. It all depends on your body.At first before ordering this product, I thought was a lil bit expensive but it is well worth it. The delivery was reasonable. Using this tincture as recommended was very helpful in my boosting supply. I would definitely recommend other new mothers to try this product out if you are having a difficult time with feeding or simply wanting a bit of an increase in supply for pumping purposes. Before using this product everyday for approximately over a month. My baby was very fussy at eating, seemed like she was not getting enough and I've never had engorement. And pumping for an hour I would only be able to produce up to 10ml from each breast For a total of 20ml. And by the days end after say 12-14 hours I would only have 2 ounces. So now after finishing product when my baby eats shes completely satisfied after feeding. Plus pumping now I pump 4 to 6 times a day for only half hour being able to produce 2 to 3 ounces per pumping session. Most days Pumping these 4 to 6 times a day I am able to produce around anywhere between 16 to 20 ounces a day in excess pumping. This a huge difference from before consuming this product of only 10 ml per hour per pump session. It really does work well. Def give it a try!!.. But be forewarned! It may work well for some and not so for others and I'm pretty sure it does say that somewhere in the comment section. But for me it has! I loved this product.I was really excited to try this product. I purposely picked this one because it said it was alcohol free in the title and the product description. However, sadly what I was sent was NOT alcohol free as you can see in my photos. I checked on the motherlove website and the bottles with no alcohol say right at the top left of the bottle. Make sure you double check everyone it can be easily missed…I dont think it did anything i paid 80$ which is really expensive..... the taste is maple syrup ish with an after taste thats bitter.... not so great and the price is way up.Works but tastes horribleGross tasting, expensive, didn't make a difference in milk supply.
