My dough ring showed up with a pretty defective (and sharp) weld which made it no longer round. If the weld/seam was more carefully contructed then I can say this about it:It is a very heavy duty ring. Don't underestimate the weight and heft to this dough cutting ring. It is said to be Made in the USA although there were no markings confirming this.Compared to the 6" Ateco ring which is Made in China, the American Metalcraft is much more substantial and solid. It also is larger as the height is 3" vs the Ateco's 1.5". I can bend the Ateco with my hand and it is a bit flimsy. In comparison, the American Metalcraft ring is far more hefty. In a perfect world, there would be a 6"/15cm ring that is shaped like the Ateco but constructed of materials similar to the American Metalcraft. Or, for my purposes, if the American Metalcraft was 1.5" high and a little more refined, it would be great. As it is, if I wanted a dough ring that was going to last, that was going to be used often and that wasn't going to be traveling, I would go with the American Metalcraft version. Given the defective nature of the ring I received from Amazon, I ended up having to get the Ateco at a nearby restaurant supply store. We will see how this works out.
