This is a simple little craft that involves creating little figures out of a ball of soap with the decals. My son and I did it together. Despite the simplicity, he actually really enjoyed making these. The kit comes with a little bottle of scented glycerin, one pair of google eyes, three packets of soap ‘powder’ - blue, pink, and green. Also included are little cardboard type shapes for making the little characters. The instruction booklet is very descriptive with pictured instructions. For example, each page showed exactly how and what to use for the pictured character. Of course, there’s no right or wrong way- one can mix and match the arms legs tails wings eyes, etc however they wish.I ended up doing the mixing; a soap powder packet with 4 teaspoons of glycerine. The mixing does take some patience in getting all the powder mixed to the correct consistency- this is due to the higher ratio of powder to glycerin. The directions clearly say to slowly pour the powder in order to not breathe it in.Once mixed enough to squeeze together, my son rolled it to the round ball shape. He then just kinda took over quietly, putting in the little features, looking at the booklet ideas. It was so cute and fairly unexpected seeing him entirely engaged in crafting the characters. He finished them with a little help from me here and there, mostly locating peices. The results looked just like they looked in the booklet. We have them displayed on our coffee table, mainly so they can get extra dry. I’ll then move them to the bathroom in a little hand soap dish. This is most certainly 5 stars, with a solid multi-age range. I will also add that this is specifically helpful for fine motor skills development.
