About this item:This beautiful cutting board is magnetized and holds an integrated bench knife, also known as a dough knife or cutting board scraper. The scraper is included with the cutting board and is made from 430 stainless steel, which is food safe and magnetic. It is completely handmade using the same wood as the cutting board.On the bottom of the board there are magnets embedded in the wood that the scraper attaches to. There are 6 magnets total on 3 of the 4 sides, so you can take your pick where you would like to store your dough knife. The magnetic cavities are filled with food safe non toxic epoxy then sanded smooth making them completely waterproof.Also on the bottom of the cutting board are wooden feet made from cherry wood. Each foot is attached with stainless steel screws and incorporates a soft bumper to help stabilize the cutting board and protect your countertop.We carefully package our cutting boards so they arrive in perfect condition. In our box we use corner guards on all 4 corners and bubble wrap over the entire board for extra protection. During our manufacturing process we soak our boards in a bath consisting of food safe mineral oil. After soaking for at least an hour we remove the boards and let them dry overnight. The next day we apply a beeswax balm by hand to seal the grain of the wood. Each board is then wrapped in food safe butcher paper to lock in the oils. When you receive your new cutting board it’s ready to use right away. No seasoning or preparation required.To care for your new cutting board and scraper, just simply hand wash using lukewarm water and a mild dish soap. Rinse with fresh water then dry using paper towels or a clean cloth. Periodically apply mineral oil or board conditioner to all surfaces. DO NOT place the cutting board or scraper in the dishwasher.
