I ordered these bottles because of the metal lids. Previous purchases of similar 16 oz glass bottles had plastic lids that after time tend to split. These bottles arrived with very secure packaging which included thick cardboard dividers between each bottle and the box was then packaged in a shipping box. My only disappointment with this purchase is that the metal lids have a very thin paper liner to accomplish the liquid seal. At this point, the bottles have successfully navigated the dishwasher and I am hand-washing the lids in order to preserve that liquid seal as long as possible. I use these for iced tea and typically fill them with warm tea and then refrigerate. I noticed that upon opening the bottles once the were cold that there is a small pressure release that was strong enough on one bottle to lift the paper liquid seal liner partially out of place. This was not displeasing, only surprising. I recommend these 16 oz square glass bottles with metal lids, but please be aware of the paper liquid seal.
