Sirius loves these brushing chews. The size is good for him too - most of these brands and styles of bones have ranges that really don't fit well with my medium-sized dog; they're usually too small for his weight class considering his jaw and teeth size (one of the joys of having a mutt!). We could go up to a large but those get very expensive very fast and the calories add on quickly for a daily treat. I will say that while these have definitely helped with the teeth cleaning the spearmint is the last ingredient on the list, and if your dog doesn't tend to have decent breath already the only difference you will notice will be from having cleaner teeth. These don't smell minty AT ALL, and since the mint flavor is last on the list I doubt they taste even remotely minty either. To me they smell pretty gross in fact, very smoky, so I think I'll buy whatever flavor is on sale. Pity because he really does love mint flavors, and so do we. Also love the new bags - they're cheaper and space saving since we put his toothbrushes in a dog cookie jar anyway.I buy these all the time from various sellers (whoever has the best price). Dogs always love these and they work really well for maintaining breath and gum healthy. Greenies are way over-priced. The shipment from this seller though is the best in recent memory in terms of product freshness and packaging. I do not think these things 'go bad', but you can tell how 'fresh' the product is by the look of the box or bag; some just look dusty or slightly beat up. These bags are clean and crisp looking. You can also tell 'freshness' when you open the bags. There is an dogs-enticing smell that escapes when you break the seal. My dogs come running from another room when they get a whiff - don't even have to call them! The actual chews themselves are great. Cheaper than Greenies, my dogs love them, and the vet is happy with their teeth. But this product is an example of why you don't give the marketing department final say on packaging design. The box looks appealing on the shelf, draws the eye, and represents the brand. If all I had to do was look at it, A+.But opening the box, especially the first time, is miserable. The dimensions of the box are awkward for a medium size female hand to manipulate. The adhesive holding the box closed is so strong that you almost need scissors to open it. The interior plastic bag is glossy so you can't get a good grip on it and the tear notch isn't enough to tear easily through that mil of plastic. The bag is glued to the box so you have to fight with that adhesive to break the box down to dispose of it.I fish out three chews from two separate boxes every day. Fighting with something like a dog chew box every day is annoying. Today I gave up, transferred the chews to ziploc bags, and cut out the lot numbers from the box in case I need them later. While these are more affordable than other brands, they're not priced such that I should have to repackage them when I get a new box. Fortunately for Milk Bone, dog dental cleanings scare me and my wallet more than their packaging annoys me so I'll keep buying them as long as they work and the dogs like them.I’ve bought the unflavored brushing bones (tan) by Milk-Bone before and my dog definitely prefers the mint flavored (green) ones. As far as his breath it is somewhat better and the vet says his teeth are looking better too. I think I started using this too late for him. He was already 6 yo so I can’t undo the plaque build up but going forward this is a daily treat for him. My kids use these with their dogs as well.My dogs love these. When bedtime comes they know a treat is coming and they can hardly contain themselves. :) One of my dogs is 7 now and we adopted him as a puppy, my other dog was rescued as a feral and her teeth were in bad shape. Since her first intensive dental cleaning the vet recommended dental chews for her. Both of them have less tartar to be removed at their yearly cleanings and my 7 year old's teeth are still white and healthy. My girl will always have stains, but the teeth are in good shape otherwise. Because they love them and the conditions of their teeth I would recommend these chews. My puppy is a rescue who was badly abused before I got her, including being tightly muzzled until she has scars from it, so she's VERY skittish about her face being touched. That makes brushing her teeth difficult for me, stressful for us both, and genuinely traumatic for her. So after talking with my vet I decided to go with these for regular use, and quarterly visits to get her teeth cleaned. We're almost two years in and so far the plan is working. My pup has very little plaque on her teeth, she gets treats for being the best puppy ever, and someone much less likely to accidentally hurt her handles the tooth brushing. I definitely recommend these as part of a dental hygiene routine.I used to give my dogs greenies, but I didn't notice any changes.... So one day I talked to my vet, she said this milk bone dental chew works! It's a little expensive, but it works! This is for my small dog Bomi. She's a silky terrier. She has bad teeth, and she doesn't like any hard treats! This dental treat is a little big for her, but it's a little soft that I can snap it into two pieces. Half of it it's perfect for her! (She doesn't want the whole thing but half....)I also bought the brown color one size large for my big GSD, which it's a hard treat that I can't snap it into two....The attached picture is Bomi had a whole half in her mouth... cuz she thought I'm gonna take it from her..... Lol!!!This is the second time I buy These treats (once at Pet store and the other thru Amazon). these dog's treats sell fast in stores. I was happier to find them on Amazon. My puppy is teething, I put them in the freezer for cooling effect. She loves them. There are not too hard like other dental treats. these are perfect for puppies. I get a Large size now, My puppy is ^ months old and a Labrador......
