I unpacked this item and found some light scratches symmetrically opposite each other, maybe by some industrial process, but i can live with those. The can is nicely made, the metal as thick as advertised, and overall it looks to be an heirloom item. I bought this to sit on top of my woodstove, full of water, where it absorbs the heat spikes and releases them when the fire diminishes. It works well and I’m very pleased to have invested money in a quality piece of manufacturing
This item arrived VERY dirty, we spent 45 minutes cleaning out the black off of it that occurs during manufacturing. The internal silicone lid falls out often, which then spoils the milk. The latches wouldn't' stay down after a few uses. I would not recommend this product
