I had been using a very basic DeLonghi machine and wanted to upgrade. I had never heard of Gevi, but evidently they make many of these machines, so I took a chance. The espresso maker is easy to use, has an easily visible water holder, and an automatic shutoff for making one or two shots. The steamer/frother does not really froth milk, but it steams it. I use a separate frother. I know cappuccino calls for half steamed and half frothed milk, but that is too much trouble for me for a single cup.There is only one complaint that I have and that is the filter holder. The filter (I always use the double) fits into a slot in the holder, which has a dimple to hold it in place. This dimple is not visible from the top, but only through a tiny slot on the side. It is difficult to turn the filter and very difficult to get it lined up correctly to remove the filter from the holder. I solved this by grinding a triangular space on the top of the filter that can be easily seen, and moved with a fingernail to the correct position. This may be minor, but not everyone has a small grinder.Small foot print, easy to use. Good tasting espresso. The milk steamer works but it is a bit messy to clean and does not get the milk hot enough for my liking. The weird noises when decompressing are not a malfunction. Good value.The machine worked good when we first received it. After a few months it no longer would extract coffee. E mailed Jevi about the problem. The machine has a one year warranty. They told me to get them codes on the bottom of the machine, send them a qr code on the bottom of the machine, send an invoice and worst of all send them a detailed video of the machine operation from start to finish. They just don't want to take.care of their problems and they make you jump through so many hoops to make you lose interest in their warranty. Not me! I contacted Amazon and they are helping me. Whatever you do don't buy this machine. I will update the review if someone reaches out to help us and takes care of this problem. It is definitely not the sellers fault. This is a cheap Chinese company that does not want to honer their warranty, plain and simple. Buy a different unit and be happy.I got this unit to replace my Delonghi. When I opened the box I was surprised by the plastic look and feel. From the pictures it appears to be heavier duty looking.I looked up the company Gevi and it listed as a Dutch manufacturer from Holland. However upon getting the box it clearly is made in China. I was not happy.Now for the coffee, and this unit makes an amazing espresso shot. 20 bar function gets you that great Cafe style espresso. I was thoroughly impressed. For the money it makes a great Cafe.Great features. When you take the cover off the wand you can make microfoam for latte art, which I'm still learning how to do. With the cover on, you get a foamy froth for cappuccinos. 20 bar pump is very fast, and it turns off automatically if you happen to walk away. Automatically measures single or double espressos, or you can control manually. Automatically stops for 1 second to preinfuse the grounds. I think it's a brilliant machine, especially for the price. It also takes up very little space on the counter. The water tank is small, but I like fresh water so I don't mind filling it after a few cups. Be sure to preheat your cup and the portafilter by running a cycle before making your coffee. It's a pressurized portafilter, so tamping is not necessary and can hurt the pump if you tamp too hard.The pump on the unit for pulling a shot is pretty good. The milk frothing steamer was a surprise. It's steam is just that. STEAM NOT adding water to your milk or half/half. I've had other units that the steam put quite a lot of water in to the milk. It heats the steam fast, so that your not frothing for an extended period of time. The only thing is that the coffee ground holders are garbage. They do work, but get yourself a descent coffee ground basket. I suppose for the price things add up. Do yourself a favor and buy a quality portafilter and basket and you'll be set.I am no barista but I just love good coffee and now I can make it at home. Very simple to use and love that it’s automatic no need to turn off manually it just stops pouring shot by itself. I would buy a separate tamper but the one that it comes with does the job. Great buy for the price.So easy to set up and use! I absolutely love it and it looks super sexy on my coffee station! I don't know how long it will last because it does seem a little cheep feeling but not to bad. I think its a great starter machine for someone that wants a great tasting espresso with little effort or cost.I wish it did come with espresso glasses I think that would have been great.The ones shown in my pictures are my own glasses.
